Q:
Do mobile phones really radiate?
A:
Yes. Mobile phones radiate energy to send radio signals to the base station antennas.

Q:
How much radiation gets absorbed by my head and body?
A:
While active, and if the phone is in close proximity to you (for example, while in your pocket, your hand or against your cheek), about half of this radiation is absorbed by a human head and body.

Q:
I’ve heard that this radiation is not like an X-Ray radiation and is in much weaker, is this right?
A:
Mobile phone radiation is not ionizing, like an X-Ray radiation and its intensity is about 10,000 times smaller. However, an important factor to take into consideration is the radiation exposure time. Whereas typical X-Ray exposure time is about a second or less, people that use a mobile phone for longer than 3h a day (i.e. more than 10,000 seconds a day) are exposed 10,000 times more, the equivalent of an X-Ray, every day, for potentially years.

Q:
What are the health consequences of this absorbed energy, especially after long daily exposure (5h+) over long period of time (10+ or 20+ years)?
A:
Daily usage of mobile phones worldwide has indeed increased to 5h+ for many, mainly due to unlimited data and minutes offers. This has increased our mobile radiation exposure significantly compared to 10 or 20 years ago when the mobile phone usage was measured in minutes per day, and considerably less.
The BioInitiative Report, which has been prepared by 29 authors from ten countries, ten holding medical degrees (MDs), 21 PhDs, and three MsC, MA or MPHs, conclude that “bioeffects are clearly established and occur at very low levels of exposure to electromagnetic fields and radiofrequency radiation.”

Several peer reviewed research papers and public media have shown that harmful mobile phone radiation can cause sleep deprivation, fertility problems, pregnancy complications, dizziness and frequent headaches and brain tumour.

Q:
Can mobile phone radiation, after long exposure time, cause cancer?
A:
Official media has published that there is increasing evidence on the link between mobile phone radiation and brain cancer. In February 2017 an employee who developed a brain tumour won a court case in Italy over excessive use of a mobile phone associated with his job.

In 2014, The World Health Organisation classified the electromagnetic fields produced by mobile phones as possibly carcinogenic to humans based on an increased risk of glioma, a malignant type of brain cancer.

The official standpoint of the NHS in UK is that “further research is still needed to check that there are no health impacts from long-term exposures”.

Q:
What should we do in the meantime (until the research is completed)?
A:
In the meantime, the NHS in UK recommends to

• “Only make short calls on your mobile phone, and avoid using it more than necessary.
• Children should only use mobile phones for essential purposes and keep all calls short.
• Use a hands-free kit to keep your phone as far away from your head as possible, and keep your mobile phone away from your body when it’s in standby mode.
• Only use your phone when the reception is strong – this is often indicated by bars of energy on your phone screen. Weak reception causes the phone to use more energy to communicate with the base station.
• Consider the specific absorption rate (SAR) of a mobile phone before you buy it – this is how much radio wave energy is absorbed into the body. Mobile phone retailers have a responsibility to make this information available to you before you buy.”

Q:
Keeping the calls short and the phones always away from our body are not practical, especially if I am on the move and do not use a fixed phone for work. Is there a more practical solution?
A:
It would be impractical and unreasonable to suggest that all should stop using their mobile phones. And although many have reduced the amount of time they are exposed to their phone, we have developed a solution through QONY, which allows you to use your phone safe in the knowledge that you are protected. The QONY case blocks 99% of harmful mobile phone radiation.

Q:
How do I know this is true?
A:
QONY solution has been tested by TÜV, Europe’s leading health equipment safety testing agency. TÜV approves most radio emitting devices for health and safety before they are allowed to be placed in the UK and other markets.

Q:
What do mobile phone manufactures say about phone radiation?
A:
In their legal terms and conditions, mobile phone manufacturers have put a recommendation on how to avoid long Radio-Frequency exposure from a mobile phone. They recommend keeping the mobile phones away from the body and using a speakerphone during conversation. On you iPhone, check it out under Settings->General->About->Legal->RF Exposure.

Q:
As using the speakerphone is not an option in a public place or an open space office, is there a more practical solution?
A:
QONY allows you to use your phone normally, as the case technology blocks 99% of the radiation while you use the phone to your ear as standard.

Q:
What is the viewpoint of other leading health organisations worldwide on the topic of the mobile phone radiation?
A:
The California Department of Public Health has warned people to keep their mobile phones at a distance to reduce radiation exposure and not to sleep with their mobile phones. They say that long-term, high use of cell phones may be linked to certain types of cancer including brain cancer and tumours of the acoustic nerve (needed for hearing and maintaining balance), and salivary glands.

The German Federal Office For Radiation Protection stresses the importance of minimising children’s exposure to radiation. Our children are still developing and are therefore more prone to reacting more sensitively in terms of health. They recommend deactivating “data transfer via mobile communications”. This leaves your child able to receive calls and play games offline while on the move.

The Carmel Medical Centre in Israel published in the peer-reviewed medical journal Reproductive BioMedicine Online that men who talk on their mobile phones for an hour a day are twice as likely to have low sperm quality.

Q:
Where can I get a QONY?
A:
You could order QONY at qony-space.com or at Amazon.

Q:
What makes the QONY different?
A:
QONY solution has been tested by the world’s leading organisation in the Health and Safety area of the radio-frequency emitting devices TÜV, and the results are up 300 times protection rate. TÜV has tested the product, not just technology. Testing has been performed using mobile equipment and the phones purchased in the UK market.
The minimum radiation protection for iPhone is 96% (25 times protection). This means that the radiation absorption after 1h of active phone usage without QONY equals the radiation absorption after 25h of active phone usage with QONY.

QONY is the only hand-made mobile radiation protection solution in the market. Each piece has been handcrafted by artisans who combined modern technology with their craft. We used the finest leather to bring unique touch to our users.

Each product is responsibly sourced and made in Europe.

Q:
What happens if I want to change my phone?
A:
To provide the largest level of radiation protection, each product is uniquely made for a specific phone model. We provide 15% discount for our existing customers to purchase a new product.

Q:
What model of phone can I get a QONY for?
A:
You could have QONY for the following phone models:
• iPhone XS
• iPhone X
